Instructions for Writing a Scientific Abstract
Length:
Maximum 200 words or 1.300 characters without spaces.
Use clear, concise, and formal scientific language.
Structure:
- Title – concise and informative, without abbreviations.
- Authors – list the full names (first name and last name) of all authors.
- Affiliations – indicate the institutional affiliation of each author.
- Example: Faculty of Medicine, University of Ljubljana, Ljubljana, Slovenia.
- If authors are from different institutions, use superscript numbers (¹, ²) to link names and affiliations.
- Abstract text – should be written in a single paragraph and include the following sections:
- Background / Introduction: briefly state the context and aim of the study.
- Methods: summarize the design, participants, and main procedures.
- Results: present the key findings succinctly.
- Conclusion: outline the main implications or significance of the findings.
- Keywords: list 3 – 5 keywords, separated by commas.
Additional recommendations:
- Do not include tables, figures, or references.
- Write in full sentences, not bullet points.
- Avoid excessive detail or repetition.
- Ensure accuracy, clarity, and proper scientific terminology.
