International Association for Adolescent Health
The International Association for Adolescent Health (IAAH) is a multidisciplinary, non-government organization which aims to improve the health, development and well-being of 10-24-year-old adolescents and young adults in every region of the world.
Since its inception in 1987, IAAH has been committed to evidence-informed practices and policies, and to ensuring that young voices inform our work.
We are very excited about this 24th IAAH European Regional Conference and our collaboration with the European Union for School & University Health and Medicine, the Slovenian Association for School, Student & Adolescent Medicine of the Slovenian Medical Association, and the Slovenian Paediatric Association of the Slovenian Medical Association.
The conference theme ‘Stronger Together’ represents the need for cross-sector working for better adolescent health and well-being.
By an integrated approach that links adolescent health with preventive care, school health, and transitional care, the conference emphasizes that the complex needs of adolescents require coordinated and multidisciplinary efforts. It also highlights the need for meaningful adolescent engagement by amplifying their voices and involving them directly in decisions that shape their lives.
Making sure that adolescents have good housing and education, high-quality food and access to green spaces is as important as optimising health services.
We look forward to seeing old friends and new in Portorož.
Best regards,
Nicky and Melis
