Lina Zabuliene, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Vilnius University, and a Consultant Endocrinologist at the Republican Vilnius University Hospital in Lithuania. She chairs the Vilnius Regional Biomedical Research Ethics Committee and serves as an advisor for the European Research Council and the European Innovation Council. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Lithuanian Society of Endocrinologists.

Dr. Zabuliene actively participates in European professional organizations. She represents Lithuania on the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS) Endocrinology Board and serves as President of the UEMS Adolescent Medicine and Health Multidisciplinary Joint Committee (MJC). Under her leadership, the European Training Requirements (ETR) for the Additional Qualification in Transitional Care of Adolescents and Young Adults were endorsed by the UEMS Council in 2025, marking a milestone in harmonizing specialist training across Europe. Since 2026, she has also been a member of the UEMS ETR Review Committee.

Dr. Zabuliene has been involved with the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) by serving on the Education Committee (2021–2025), Clinical Committee (2025–2029), Question Writing Group for the European Board Examination in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism (since 2022), and the European Exam Board (since 2025). She is a co-author of the 2026 European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) and ESE Joint Clinical Practice Guidance for healthcare transition from paediatric to adult endocrine care.

With over 70 peer-reviewed publications, her scientific and clinical interests include reproductive endocrinology, diabetes and metabolic disorders, the effects of environmental factors on health, and transitional care for adolescents and young adults. Her professional mission is dedicated to developing competency-based frameworks and fostering patient empowerment to ensure high-quality, continuous care for young patients across specialties in Europe.
